The Williams Boat Company Story
Red
Williams began working in Fiberglass repair over 50 years ago. In the
process of repairing various fiberglass products he realized he was repairing
many boats due to poor manufacturing. Red believed better boats could be
built that were "maintenance free." He finally began designing that boat
in 1950 and soon the first Williams Craft Bream Fishing Boat came out of
the mold. Over the years the Williams Boat Works has made many
changes as advances in production capabilities and boat equipment
improved.
Although many changes have been made in the factory, no changes have been
made to Red's original goal: to build a "maintenance free boat." today
the Williams Craft Bream Fishing Boat boasts a solid fiberglass
composite hull with no wood to rot. It carries a lifetime warranty on
the hull, transom and stringer system.
Williams Boat Country opened as a boat sales location as a means of
distributing the Williams Craft Boats. Later they began selling other
brands of boats to customers interested in other water sports such as
open water fishing, skiing and bass fishing. Just after the turn of the
century Kip Williams, Red's son and owner of Williams Boat Country,
purchased several acres of land at the intersection of Hwy 231 and
Eddins Road in Dothan, Alabama. He and his wife, Lisa, oversaw the
construction of a 10,000 square foot building that would soon
house a new Williams Boat Country which opened in the spring of 2003.
Since that time Kip and Lisa have gradually added more lines and now
Williams Craft is building open water fishing vessels in addition
to the Bream boat.
In
2005 Williams Boat Country had the distinction of being in the top 10
dealers for several of their boat lines. They now have several hundred
customers who have expressed confidence in William's service by
purchasing boats from them. You too can have the same confidence of
purchasing a great boat with excellent customer service to follow by
doing business with Williams Boat Country in Dothan, Alabama.
